The Pelagic II was a Deep-Sea Research Vessel which was owned by the US Government. This ship is believed to be the successor of the Pelagic I, a research vessel owned by dataDyne in 2022.
Role in Plot[]
The Pelagic II played a key role in dataDyne's plot to uncover a sunken alien ship that was in the scope of their alien allies for quite some time. However, since the Pelagic II was owned by the US Government, Trent Easton pestered the President with countless demands to obtain legal permission to use it but to no avail, but also to obtain a few stem cells to produce a virtually identical clone to leverage the documents for their own gain.
However, Joanna was able to rescue the President and kill his clone before dataDyne could obtain the ship. This didn't stop the corporation from stealing the Pelagic II altogether, however, and forcing its remaining crew to work for them instead. The secret agent, along with her alien companion, infiltrated the ship and finally destroyed it, before going down to the Cetan Ship to further disrupt dataDyne's operation in the seabed.
