The AR53 is one of the "Classic Weapons" featured in Perfect Dark. It is a duplicate of the US AR33 Assault Rifle that appeared in GoldenEye 007, which is itself based on the M16A2 Service Rifle formerly in use by the U.S. military.
Overview[]
It is a powerful weapon with a decent zoom (about the same as the Dragon assault rifle - 2x magnification). Along with the KF7 Special, it is one of the only assault rifles that can be dual-wielded. As a classic weapon, the AR53 has no secondary function, and there is no in-game description. Unlike its counterpart from GoldenEye, the shots fired cannot penetrate enemies and doors.
The use of the AR53 in single player is unlocked by getting gold medals in the firing range, as with all classic weapons. Alternatively, the All Guns in Solo cheat will also give you all the classic weapons.

- The initials AR53 are most likely a play on the word arse; the British spelling of the American ass.
- The damage from the AR53 is the same as the K7 Avenger.
